EncouragedSomeoneToday is here to minister to persons with disabilities, to caregivers, or simply those who find themselves, heavily laden. You see, I believe we can use God's Word for guidance and application to real-life situations. As we learn more about Jesus, we can better love and nurture ourselves and others.

As a "physically challenged believer" I am committed to Christ' command, and that is to bear one another's burdens.  Since we walk by faith and not by sight, my emphasis is on the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ, which lifts us up and causes us to move forward, not as victims, but as victors. How is this possible?

From my youth I have had a strong desire to serve the Lord. Little did I realize where that would eventually lead me. As a child I had visions that the Lord would call me as a missionary to the deepest parts of Africa.

However, God had another mission field in mind. One I would not have chosen on my own. One that was a lot less glamorous. You see, through God's soveringty He allowed paralysis to enter my life, and as a result I have had to use a wheelchair to get around.

It has been over thirty years since that day, and in between those years there has been a whole lot of shaping and forming going on. What have I learned as a result? Well that's what I would like to share with you.

Are you aware that one of the greatest mission fields exist right in your own pews and community. Just as God has set up some to be prophets evangelist, teachers, and pastors for the edification of the church, He has also set up some to be; well the book of Corinthians describes it this way.

So then, the eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" Nor can the head say to the feet, "Well, I don't need you!" ON THE CONTRARY, we cannot do without the parts of the body that seem to be weaker; and those parts that we think aren't worth very much are the ones we treat with greater care; while the parts of the body which don't look very nice receive special attention which the more beautiful parts of our body do not need.

Yes God permitted, established, decreed, that I should be of of those, "weaker parts of the body." But this was a wonderful and liberating discovery for me because as a result I came to understand my position of importance in the Body of Christ! Now I can say, as did the Apostle Paul, "Most gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities that the power of God can be on display."

Holy SpiritPerhaps you know someone who is experiencing difficulty this very moment. They may even be angry with God! Well, that's alright because not only did God create them, He also knows their weaknesses. My prayer is that this site will help you to reach out to those with disabilities and their caregivers, to help strenghten and equip them in their daily walk with the Lord.

I am convinced that believers, who have to live with their disabilities on a day to day basis, can do so victoriously. However, this can only be accomplished as we rely on the Holy Spirit and His power.
